Celebrity Inspiration: Rachel Bilson

Hey everyone! Here is another celebrity-inspired outfit. Rachel Bilson seems to stay out of the picture a lot of the time, but whenever I see photographs of her, she always looks great. Her outfits always seem so effortless, but we all know how much effort is put into those kinds of looks. I recently saw this photo of her and loved the thrown-together-at-the-last-minute-but-still-looks-cute quality of the outfit.

Dress: Forever 21, Belt: Delia's, Sandals: Delia's, Handbag: Forever 21.

This outfit is perfect for a luncheon out or an afternoon on the town. The casual vibe of the dress is dressed up by the waist belt and the leather handbag. The sandals make it perfect for the spring or summer time as well.

Comment and tell me what you think!

Top 5 Swimsuits

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't written in a while, my friend came down to the beach on Friday and we were pretty busy. Since I'm in the beach mood, I decided to make this top five swimsuit post. Enjoy!

Well, these are my favorite bathing suits. I tend to go for the string bikinis, but I also like bandeau tops and halters. I never wear tankinis or one-pieces, but there are many cute ones out there. Comment and tell me which one is your favorite!

Celebrity Inspiration: Lauren Conrad

Hey everyone! So, one of my favorite celebrities is Lauren Conrad. Her style is a lot like my own, and I always love what she is wearing. I recently saw this photo of her outfit, and I absolutely loved the simplicity and understated chicness of it.

The “boyfriend blazer” — A great way to spice up that dress
Blazer: Forever 21, Tank: Forever 21, Jeans: American Eagle.

This outfit is very casual-chic. Without the blazer, the outfit would look a little too casual, but the blazer adds a certain amount of sophistication to the overall look. You could also wear a black blazer with this outfit, but I like the navy blue for a less harsh look.

Thanks for reading!

5 Fun Summer Dresses from Anthropologie

Hey everyone! So recently I started shopping at Anthropologie, and I love all of their designs. I decided to share with you some of my favorite summer dresses by them, so here they are!

This dress is very simple, as are many of Anthropologie's designs. I love the white feathery print against the gray-blue backdrop, and the dress is draped in a very sophisticated way against the mannequin. The ribbon tied at the waist gives off an easiness about the dress.

This dress is perfect for going out to dinner or for attending a nicer event because of its color. The fabric and ribbon detailing around the waist gives it a more casual, summery feel, as does the black jersey material.

This dress has a retro vibe to it, because of the bold polka-dot pattern. The dress is strapless, so it is also very easy to wear over a swimsuit. This is probably the most casual of the dresses because of its cotton fabric and easy draping.

This dress is very appropriately named. Can't you just see yourself wearing this dress for exactly that purpose? It's a very romantic dress, a combination of the ruffles on top, the floral pattern, and the chiffon overlay.

This dress is very simple, but very chic. Just like the Lafayette Dress, it has a slight retro feel to it because of the simple, straight neckline and collar and the bright, full skirt.

I want to know: which dress is your favorite? Comment below. Thanks!

Rainy Days and Birthdays

Hey everyone! Well, I'm on vacation at my beach house, and today is just a dark and gloomy day. We were planning on going to the beach again today, but that's probably not going to happen until Thursday. Tomorrow is my sister's birthday, and we are planning on going shopping at some outlets nearby and then going out to dinner with my whole family. I thought that I would show you what I will be wearing tomorrow as I am stuck inside for the rest of the day.

1. Cardigan (Hollister Co.)

This cardigan is perfect for summer, because of the pink floral print. Tomorrow, I will just wear it over a white camisole to keep the focus on the sweater.

The Erin Skinny

I am wearing a dark wash skinny jean to keep the look clean. I often wear these jeans because they are very comfortable and they go with almost every outfit.

3. Necklace (American Eagle)

This necklace has a simple pearl and chain link pattern with a small fleur de lis pendant. It is simple and classy but adds the right amount of shine to the outfit.

5. Flats (Delia's)
Virginia T-Strap Sandal
These are simple white gladiator sandals with a little bit of silver around the ankle strap. They accentuate the white pearls and the silver chain on the necklace as well.

Well, I hope I could provide some inspiration for you. Have a great day!

Seventeen Magazine: August 2010

Hey everyone! So, I recently got the August issue of Seventeen, and I absolutely loved Rihanna's outfit. In case you're not subscribed, here's what she looked like:
Rihanna Covers 'Seventeen' August 2010

On the cover, she paired a lime green pencil skirt with an electric purple waistband and a slouchy white tee. Over the white tee, she layered many brightly-patterned coiled necklaces. So I decided to make my own version of this outfit:

Necklace: Dannijo, Belt: YOOX, Top: Forever 21, Skirt: American Eagle Outfitters.

Rihanna's unique way of pairing the purple with the lime green may seen unexpected, but when worn with the simple slouchy white tee and the many brilliant Zulu bead necklaces, the whole look is tied together in an eclectically chic way.

Beach Essentials

Hello again! I got the beach today and I will be here for a while, but I will have my laptop so I will continue posting. As I was packing, I decided to make a list of my most important beach items. So here goes!

1. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen.
I can't even say it enough. Sunscreen is so important for the beach, especially if your skin is on the fair side, like mine. The burns you receive when you are young are the ones that are most
harmful to you later in life. No one wants to be super-wrinkly at age forty, so protect your skin! My favorite is Coppertone Oil-Free sunscreen, $7.42 at Walmart.

2. Chapstick
Chapstick is just as important as sunscreen for your lips. Make sure to get one with an SPF to keep your lips hydrated! Wear some under lip gloss when going out. Buy it at Walmart.

3. Cute Beach Towel
Seaside Beach Towel
Cute beach towels are so important, just to complete your whole "beach girl" look. It doesn't have be expensive either, any cute towel you see at your local beach store. Like the one above, available at L.L. Bean, for $24.50.

4. Sunglasses
There's really no need to splurge on sunglasses, despite what you are told. Lots of great sunglasses are available for $10 or less. There is a flea market near me where I always get my sunglasses, even if they are knockoffs. Or try Forever 21 for a cute pair of aviators like the one above for only $5.80.

5. A beach bag!
Make sure to get a stylish, oversize beach bag to include all of your necessary items. I like Vera Bradley totes, because they are durable and machine-washable. My favorite is the Miller bag, like the one above.

6. Camera
A camera is one of the most important items in life. Make sure you capture all the memories! I have the Nikon Coolpix, and it works really well.

7. Books
I probably get most of my reading done at the beach. It's the perfect time to relax, kick back, and enjoy a good book. After being in the water for a while, I always pull out my book for a break and to dry off in the sun. I love the Private series by Kate Brian. Her real name is Kieran Scott, and make sure to check out books under both names.

8. Friends!
For an even better time, bring your friends along with you. It'll give you some extra time together while having even more fun than you probably would at home.

I hope this helped all of you, and have a great vacation!

Summer Outfits: From Day to Night

Hey everyone! So this will be our first official fashion post. Below I put together some cute outfits that display the way a simple black dress and a white v-neck, both from Forever 21, can each go from day to night by simply changing the accessories that are added to the item.

Day #1
Dress: Forever 21, Necklace: Forever 21, Tote: Delia's, Flip Flops: Havaiana's, Bikini: Delia's, Earrings: ZuluMoon.

This outfit displays the way this particular dress can be worn as a cover-up type dress, for either going to the pool or the beach. Here, the dress is paired with an oversized beach tote, a blue and green bikini, some simple hoop earrings, a tiny multi-strand beaded necklace, and some easy flip flops.

Night #1

Dress: Forever 21, Jacket: Michael Kors, Sandals: Wet Seal, Headband: Forever 21, Necklace: Tilly's.

In this outfit, the simple dress is dressed up for more of a going-out outfit. A floral headband is added for some extra color, and the ivory jacket keeps the outfit light and summery when paired with the black dress. The gladiator sandals are perfect for a night out on the boardwalk or for a dinner date, keeping the dress comfortable and casual, but still appropriate for a nicer type of outing. Finally, I chose a simple necklace to give some definition to the dress and draw some attention to the neckline.

Day #2
V-Neck: Forever 21, Swimsuit: Martha Rey, Flip Flops: Havaiana's, Necklace: Tilly's, Tote: PacSun.

A classic white v-neck is an essential part of any wardrobe, and can almost be worn anytime with anything. Here, when worn on top of a swimsuit with a pair of denim cutoff shorts, it is most definitely a beach outfit. When wearing such a simple top, make sure to add lots of color to the rest of your accessories so you don't get too washed out. Between the floral bikini, the turquoise tote, and the yellow flip flops, the white v-neck is the perfect top to wear alongside all of them.

Night #2
V-Neck: Forever 21, Skirt: Delia's, Jacket: Eryn Brinie, Necklace: Tilly's, Ankle Boots: Delia's.

For this outfit, I wanted to dress up the v-neck a little bit so I added a summery floral skirt in some bright colors. Also, when I am out at night during the summer, I always wear something that will keep my arms warm for those breezy nights. I chose a lightweight cropped jacket for this outfit to give it a little bit of an edgier look. I then added some gray ankle boots and a silver and black necklace to complete the look.

Let me know in a comment what you think of these outfits and if you have any more suggestions. I'd love to hear from you!
