Outfit of the Day: 12/25/10

Cranberry Trifle BagFloral Filigree NecklaceDKNY "Roslyn" Flared Trench Wool Coat
Dress: Forever 21, Tights: American Eagle, Bag: ModCloth, Necklace: ModCloth, Coat: Bloomingdale's, Boots: Love Culture

I first started with the simple black dress. Since it's winter and I will be going to church and then having dinner with my family, I needed a more conservative outfit, which is why I added the simple white tights. I chose to wear flat boots because they are so comfortable and I am not good in heels. To add some sparkle, I will be wearing the white and gold necklace, which I absolutely adore. Finally, I added a red suede bag, which is very festive and so cute.

Happy Holidays!

Book Review: Stolen by Lucy Christopher

Hey everyone! So, this doesn't really have anything to do with fashion or beauty, but I figured I'd just post this anyway. For all of you who like to read, or even some who don't, this book will make you want to. Stolen is a book about a 16-year-old girl, Gemma, who is kidnapped on her way to a family vacation and brought all the way to the Australian outback. Her captor, Ty, is no stereotypical kidnapper. He is young, Australian, and head over heels in love with Gemma. While they are all alone, miles away from civilization, will Ty's love cause even Gemma to forget what he's done to her and will he also steal her heart? This is a must read book- once you start, you won't be able to put it down, I promise!

Oufit of the Day: 12/11/10

Hey everyone! So, I don't know if any of you watch YouTube videos about fashion and stuff, but if you do, you know that I stole this from them. At first I was going to make beauty videos like these and post them on YouTube, but I'm much better at writing than being live on camera, so that's why I made a blog. Also, I can post wherever and whenever I want without worrying about being loud or having the right stuff with me. Not to say I don't enjoy watching other people's videos on YouTube. Anyway, let's get right into this!

The Erin SkinnyMinnetonka Moccasin Women's Kilty Suede Moc Shoe
Tank: Hollister, Blazer: Forever 21, Jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch, Necklaces: Forever 21, Shoes: Minnetonka.

Today I am just going out to lunch and then maybe shopping a little. The tank and jeans are a little too casual by themselves, but when matched with a navy blazer and the moccasins, they are sufficiently dressed up to go out for a Saturday!

Celebrity Inspiration: Taylor Swift

Hey everyone! So, my absolute favorite artist is Taylor Swift. She just seems like such a put-together person and her music is so relatable. But besides all of that, I love her simple, sweet style. So here are some ways to wear it!

Oufit #1

Coat: Delia's, Boots: Love Culture

Even though Taylor Swift is wearing Louboutins, any simple black boot with a heel will do. I love the contrast between the bright yellow jacket and the simple black tights and boots. The outfit is very underrated and that's what makes it so chic. You don't need to go all out for this kind of outfit; sometimes effortless looks are the prettiest looks.

Outfit #2

Top: Forever 21, Jeggings: American Eagle, Boots: Spiegel, Tank: Aeropostale

This is a perfect outfit for just going out to the store or hanging out with friends. This look also has an effortless appeal to it, like Outfit #1. The boots dress up the loose shirt also, and the jeggings are very comfortable.

Outfit #3

Dress: Anthropologie, Bag: Love Culture, Sunglasses: Forever 21

This outfit is more of a summer look, but nevertheless cute. Here, Taylor pairs a navy blue patterned dress with a bright colored purse and some big sunglasses to top it all off. This is perfect for meeting a friend for lunch or perusing some shops on a Saturday afternoon.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this post. More "Celebrity Inspiration" to come!

Holiday Outfit #3

Hey everyone! So, this is holiday outfit #3. This outfit was put together for a casual house party, or any type of event similar. So here it is!

Outfit #3: Casual House Party
Randies Over-The-Knee Suede Boots
Jeggings: American Eagle, Top: Forever 21, Shoes: Lord & Taylor, Necklace: Forever 21

This outfit is obviously very comfortable and casual. The boots are flat, so you won't have to worry about heels the whole night, and the jeggings are so comfortable. The shirt is just a very casual knit black top with some lace accenting. Finally, the necklace adds some shine and some more dimension with its multiple colored pearls.

Thanks so much for reading, and check back soon for more holiday posts!

Holiday Outfit #2

Hey everyone! So, continuing my little series, here is Outfit #2: New Years. New Years parties tend to be a little dressier, so I kept that in mind when choosing an outfit.

Outfit #2: New Years
Eden Satin Stiletto PumpsSatin Foldover Clutch Aqua Boyfriend Blazer with Striped Lining
Dress: Forever 21, Tights: American Eagle, Shoes: Betsey Johnson, Clutch: Lord & Taylor, Blazer: Bloomingdale's.

So, as you can see, this outfit has a kind of black-theme going on. I started with the dress, which is very simple, so I could add on all types of other accessories. I've seen lots of people wearing lace tights lately, and I thought this would be a good outfit to try it on. I then added the Betsey Johnson heels, which are quite high, and simple but unique. The clutch adds some shimmer to the outfit, and really pops against the black. Finally, I love the look of a blazer, so I chose that as a kind of cover for walking into the party or if you don't feel comfortable wearing a strapless.

Holiday Outfit #1

Hey everyone! I'm so sorry I haven't written in forever, but I will definitely get back to writing much more often. So, everyone knows that Christmas is coming up, and with Christmas, parties. I decided to put together some cute outfits for all kinds of holiday parties, which I will publish in a series of outfits. Without further ado...

Outfit #1: Family Get-Together
Tranquil Waves Navy Blue Dress
Dress: LuLu's, Boots: Forever 21, Tights: Urban Outfitters
My family parties are usually pretty casual, but everyone dresses pretty nice. I absolutely love love love this dress, and the best part is you can wear it again and again, even to school! It would look especially nice paired with some ivory cable-knit sweater tights and brown faux-leather riding boots. If you are looking for a nicer look, switch out the sweater tights for some nude hose and heels. You can also add some dressier jewelry to make it appropriate for fancier party. This is a perfect simple outfit for a nice get-together.

Check back later this week for Outfit #2: New Years!
