Drugstore Summer Makeup Routine

As summer nears, thoughts of long days, late nights, and sunkissed tans are floating through everyone's minds. Tomorrow is my last day of school, and with season changes come makeup changes. I thought I'd write a quick post on what my makeup routine usually looks like. I like to keep it light and simple.
1. CoverGirl Smoothers tinted moisturizer
CoverGirl Smoothers SPF 15 Tinted Coverage, Light To Medium 810
I usually start with some tinted moisturizer to even out my skin tone (you never know what the summer sun can do to your skin!). I rub this in evenly all over my face. This works as a sort of primer and keeps your skin hydrated in the heat.

2. Neutrogena 3-in-1 Concealer For Eyes

After moisturizing my face, I use a light concealer to cover up my under-eye circles. I often skip this step during the summer, as my under-eye circles seem to fade. To apply this, I usually use the tip of my ring finger and gently pat the concealer on.

3. CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless Corrector
CoverGirl & Olay Corrector Simply Ageless Makeup, Corrector 230
Next, I cover up any blemishes with this concealer. I really like this concealer because it blends very well with your skin and the color swirls keep it from looking blotchy. For this concealer, I use my Sigma F75 brush.

4. Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Finishing Veil
Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Matte Talc-Free Finishing Veil, Translucent
To set the concealers in place and remove any shine, I brush on this sheer powder. It's perfect for hot summer days because of its translucent finish and light feel. I usually use my Sigma F82 Kabuki brush though instead of the one that comes with the makeup.

5. Physicians Formula Multi-Colored Blush
Physicians Formula Powder Palette Multi-Colored Blush, Blushing Rose 2466
After applying powder, I sweep on some blush on the apples of my cheeks. Just make sure not to put too much on, as it will become very noticeable when out in the sun and summer makeup is supposed to look natural. For blush, I use my Sigma F10.
6. Wet n Wild Idol Eyes eyeliner
Wet n Wild Idol Eyes Retractable Eye Pencil, Midnight Black
For my eyeliner, I usually use a dark black that brings out my eyes but if you have blonde hair you may want to use a black-brown or a brown eyeliner. To line my eyes, I apply the eyeliner on the lower lash line starting about halfway and bring it out to the corner of my eye, smudging it a little. I then line my upper lash line across the whole lid.

7. CoverGirl Lashblast mascara
CoverGirl LashBlast Waterproof Mascara, Very Black 825
Finally, to end my makeup application, I apply a few coats of mascara. Make sure not to apply too much as to make it clumpy, but two to three coats is usually good for me.

Here are the brushes I use:
